Shreveport, Louisiana Maternity Photographer | Taylor's Maternity Session
I was extremely excited to discuss details with Taylor. She booked me when she first found out she was expecting. It always melts my heart when my clients think of me first. Plus, I do book extremely fast so the sooner the better. She actually won a gift certificate from a local place I sponsored. (Southernly Stitched Design). She wanted to use it for a special occasion so she waited until she was expecting. How awesome is that? That is the perfect time to use it so you can have your most precious memories captured.
They started trying in 2018 when they got married. They soon realized they needed to try IUI. Unfortunately. it failed three times so they decided to do IVF. When I heard her baby girl is an IVF baby, I knew we had to do something special. I have so many cute ideas planned for the newborn session to represent infertility. That is just part of the journey into motherhood. I love hearing all the stories from the parents because it allows me to connect on a deeper level.
Her family was an ABSOLUTE BLAST! Her mom Michelle and grandmother Helen cracked me up. I love getting to know them. Helen definitely won the funniest grandmother award when I heard the story about Facebook. It’s not her fault she’s so popular anyways. Her mom is bestfriends with my mom so they remind me of each other a lot. I can’t think of many moments we didn’t laugh. Even while we were enjoying the beautiful sunset on the cart.
Her maternity session was nothing short of perfect. First was makeup and hair of course. Who does not like to be dolled up? She was pretty open with colors for her gown. However, she did mention how awesome she looked in royal blue. Which she was 100% right. I adored each color for different reasons: the pink was elegant and of course represents her precious baby girl, the blue made her pop with her beautiful blonde hair, the mustard was perfect for fall, and the black made her feel like boho queen next to the brown backdrop.
We went to her aunts house to take the outside portion. It was 110% worth the drive because the light was amazing shining through the trees. So many options for one yard. I always love the creamy look it gives. She saw her aunts porch and fell in love. I instantly thought how it would look with the mustard dress and brown hat. I always try to coordinate the best I can. Even if that means I have to get creative.
