Ivy’s Newborn Session
When Brigitte reached out with her big news, I was thrilled. I have been photographing this family for almost four years. It might had been a shock at first but she was ready to start planning. I couldn’t wait to recreate some photographs from Cora’s session. I feel like we have been bestfriends forever. I almost didn’t want to newborn session to end because I knew I would only see them two more times before I had to wait a while. This family is seriously a breathe of fresh air. They are laid back and trust me with every movement.
Brigitte had so many ideas for Cora’s session but for Ivy’s session she just wanted to feel like a princess. She loved having the full experience this time in Shreveport, Louisiana with makeup and hair. We even coordinated the newborn session for her beautiful album. She said last night she was moving things around for her new product. I know everything is going to look fantastic in her home.
How amazing is this? I can’t wait to watch these two girls grow! They have amazing parents and I know that for sure. Not only was recreating sentimental, I loved seeing my art flourish. I have grown so much as a business owner and maternity/newborn photographer. It truly shows when I have some outstanding loyal clients. They are generous, patient, and kind. That means more to me than they will ever know. Especially during the busy season!
When they came in for the ordering, Brigitte definitely teared up. Seeing how beautiful these memories are is special. Especially not knowing if you will ever have a tiny baby in your arms again. It is bitter sweet. I knew she would have trouble narrowing them down since it was a huge gallery. She loved to see all the variety and colors. It was hard to imagine not having them all. Ivy is too cute so that made it even harder! I saw Cora a lot in her when I was photographing her.
Their girls were an absolute dream at the session. Brigitte didn’t have color ideas for the session so she said for me to do what I wanted. I might have went overboard with all the colors. I love mixing colors and neutrals. She fell in love with all of them. We let Cora warm up and do what she poses she wanted. Not all children will want to hold baby or participate. We have to make it a game or give it time. They are only little humans with big emotions. When Cora laid down with Ivy, it melted my heart. I knew how much mom and dad would cherish this shot! The family part was the hardest for Brigitte to choose from since she loved them all. She expressed how I captured the perfect family photograph!
