NEWBORN SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY!

Newborns Have Limited Strength & Control

  • Babies lack head and neck control, so proper posing and support are essential to prevent strain or injury.

Risk of Falls & Accidents

  • Newborns may startle or move unpredictably. Without proper support, they can roll or slip out of position. A spotter (parent or assistant) should always be nearby.

Fragile Joints & Soft Bones

  • Some poses seen in newborn photography are composites (edited together for safety). Forcing a baby into a position they’re not naturally comfortable in can cause harm.

Temperature & Comfort

  • Newborns can’t regulate body temperature well. Keeping the room warm, using soft fabrics, and ensuring they are comfortable is critical.

Hygiene & Health Precautions

  • Newborns have developing immune systems. Photographers should sanitize hands, use clean props, and reschedule if they’re sick to avoid exposing the baby to germs.

Safe Use of Props & Accessories

  • Baskets, wraps, and headbands should be secure, breathable, and baby-friendly—no sharp edges or tight-fitting accessories that could restrict circulation.

Following the Baby’s Lead

  • If a baby seems uncomfortable, fussy, or resists a pose, it’s important to adjust and never force it. Their safety and well-being always come first.
