Katy's Family Session

This family has been through so much. I am so thankful I have been able to photograph them over three years now. Katy and I have become great friends. Their two youngest babies have been battling genetic mutation (CX26). They continue to stay strong and so supportive! Especially through baseball. <3

Here is their story:

Ledger & Ezrie Kate Loftin were born with a genetic mutation (CX26) causing them both to have congenital bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. This type of hearing loss along with the gene results in a progressive loss in some cases.

Ledger was born with mild hearing loss and it has progressed in his 2.5 years of life, Ledger will receive a unilateral cochlear implant on the left side September 26th, 2017. He will be activated (or his bionic superHEARo ear will be turned on October 30th, 2017 !!! He will receive a right cochlear implant in the future.

Our sweet girl Ezrie Kate (EK) was born profoundly deaf & will be bilaterally implanted 3 days after her 1st birthday - December 19th, 2017. EK will hear her first sounds around mid January 2018 ! You heard that right...HER FIRST SOUND EVER!!! 😍
