Kanon's Newborn Session

Meet Kanon! He was born with Gastroschisis. He was 4 lbs and 10 oz when he was born. He was only in the NICU for 2 days before taking out his breathing tube on his own! Nurses saw he was doing so well, they kept it out. He immediately started breathing on his on. After only a month, he was able to go home. He is definitely a fighter. Even though he has been through many challenges, he still remains strong! He was such an angel! P.S. I am so jealous of his eyelashes! <3

Here is his story:

"Kanon Lucas was born with Gastroschisis which is a birth defect where the intestines are on the outside of the body. I found out he had this condition at 16 weeks pregnant. Being a mother, you never want anything wrong with your child. I was scared and didn't know what to expect. My husband and I knew that it wasn't going to be easy. When Kanon was born on July 11th 2017, I had to have a c- section and as soon as he was born they took him back to put a silo on his intestines so that they could slowly put it back in his stomach. A week later all his intestines were back in. Seeing your baby laying there, you feel so helpless. Going home without him was the hardest thing I have ever been through. Knowing everything that he has been through we had to be strong for him. Kanon is such a fighter and I'll never complain about being hurt again after seeing what he had been through. Four weeks later we got to bring our baby boy home. With the condition he has, it's very rare that they get to go home that early. We are so thankful we have such a huge support system and prayers. Our little Gastroschisis baby will always be special to us I am so thankful and blessed to be his mother."
