Shreveport, Louisiana Family Photographer | Shamara's Family Session

SHAMARA_04.jpg

I can not believe how big the girls have gotten in just a year. I did Kenzlin’s newborn session a whole year ago. It was a blast catching up while doing their beautiful session. It was long overdo. The lighting was so perfect that day. The weather was also not too cold or hot. I say it was the perfect day for a family session. We walked a mile or so to catch the sunset. Mom couldn’t get over how beautiful it was. The evening was filled with laughter and dancing. You can see the smile between the big sisters. They enjoyed playing around while I got to capture real life moments. You see the real bond between the family when it’s not posed. Plus, we all know it’s hard for children to stand still for a lengthy period. They did not hesitate when I asked them to hug mom and dad’s neck.

I can’t wait to see Shamara’s collection of acrylic products. It makes me feel like Christmas is here when I get to open them. It’s even better when I get to see my client’s reaction to their heirlooms. Sometimes you might stop and think, when will I get another family session? When will life slow down? While time is steadily passing us by, photographs freeze time. Trust me, I know that is cheesy to say but I truly mean it. Between the newborn session and senior photographs, how many times will you actually get family photographs done? The answer is probably a low number. The time in between matters too. Before you know it, they are grown. I hear my clients talking about it often at the studio. You deserve to capture the time in between as well. I never really understood why family photographs aren’t valued as much. I make it a goal to get at least one new family session each year. I love seeing how much can change in just a year. You can even make poses a tradition to see the difference. Don’t wait until they are grown.
